London-based sales company Independent has picked up worldwide rights to documentary In Search Of Diego.

The feature documentary, currently in post-production, follows five young UK freestyle footballers who travel the world to try to meet their hero Diego Maradona.

Brothers Benjamin and Gabe Turner directed, while Leon Pearlman and Ben Winston of Fulwell 73 produced with Rebecca Green of Green Wolf Films. Gary Sinyor is serving as executive producer.

Independent, formerly known as Independent Film Sales, also has Berlinale Competitor Hallam Foe on its slate as well as Marc Munden's Rotterdam prize-winning The Mark Of Cain and Paul Andrew Williams' thriller London To Brighton.

Independent's sister production company (formerly known as Artists Independent Pictures) has projects in the works including Nicolas Roeg's adaptation of Martin Amis' Night Train, Richard Jobson's action film The Ballad Of Jo Lim, and Bernard Rose's Mr. Nice.
