Ray joins Kimmel arm

Bingham Ray has joined Los Angeles-based financing and production company Sidney Kimmel Entertainment as president of the newly formed Kimmel Distribution. Industry veteran Ray has headed United Artists and October Films.

Rice departs Disney for United Artists

Dennis Rice has left The Walt Disney Studios to join United Artists as president of worldwide marketing and publicity. Rice, who oversaw campaigns for The Incredibles, Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl and Wild Hogs, among others, will report to UA CEO Paula Wagner.

Paramount recruits Pinkerton for finance

Mark Pinkerton has been named senior vice-president, finance, capital management at Paramount Pictures. He takes the newly created position after leaving biotechnology company Amgen. He has previously worked at NBC Universal, Vivendi Universal and Lehman Brothers.

Byles and Rodriguez join Peace Arch

Kevin Byles has joined Peace Arch Entertainment Group as president of international distribution, and Victor Rodriguez as executive vice-president of international distribution. Both executives arrive from Chum International and will be based at the company's Toronto offices handling the theatrical and television slate.

Klint takes over sales post at Nordisk

Tine Klint is the new head of international sales at Denmark-based Nordisk Film. Klint started her career at Trust Film/Zentropa Film in 1999 as a sales executive and project manager.

UTV announces key appointments

UTV company founder Ronald D'Mello has taken over as CEO of UTV-UK, which will encompass UTV's new media initiatives, including its animation business, post-production and SFX business as well as the recent controlling investment in Ignition UK and India Games. Zarina Mehta takes over as CEO of UTV youth subsidiary GenX, while Shantonu Aditya moves from Sony Entertainment Television to join UTV as executive director of the newly formed unit UTV Broadcasting and CEO of V&S Broadcasting.
