Intermission, which passed the Euos 2m mark at the Irish box office last week, has been shortlisted in 11 award categories in the Irish Film & Television Awards which will be announced in Dublin on November 1.

Debut director John Crowley, and writer Mark O'Rowe have both been nominated for their work on Intermission in their respective award categories and the film has itself been nominated as Best Irish Film.

Intermission's other nominations are Deirdre O'Kane and Ger Ryan as Best Supporting Actress in Film/TV, Colin Farrell and David Wilmot as Best Supporting Actor in Film/TV, Tom Conroy for Best Art Direction, Lorna Marie Mugan for Best Costume Design, and Lynn Johnston and Lorraine for Glynn for Best Hair/Make-Up, and Wilmot has also been nominated in the Best New Talent category.

The other nominees for Best Irish Film are The Actors, Dead Bodies, Intermission, Song For A Raggy Boy, Veronica Guerin, and Chavez-Inside the Coup (aka The Revolution Will Not Be Televised).

Films eligible for nomination included those whose principal photography was in Ireland, with Irish funding provided either through S481, Irish broadcasters, the Irish Film Board, NIFTC, the Arts Council, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, or private Irish equity.

Eligibility for the individual nominations was open to all Irish talent working in front or behind the camera whether in Ireland or abroad.
