Four new entries debuted in Screen's international chart this week, the highest of which was StudioCanal's Change Of Plans, from director Daniele Thompson, at number eight. Starring Welcome To The Sticks' Dany Boon, the comedy opened in France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland, taking $5.9m from 550 screens for the week's highest screen average at $10,700.
India provided the other top 10 entry, with UTV Communications' Delhi 6 in ninth place, grossing $5.7m from 1,039 screens in 13 territories. Delhi 6, from Rang De Basanti director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, also debuted in North America where it placed 23rd, grossing more than $600,000 from 381 screens.
EuropaCorp's District 13: Ultimatum is the other French new entry this week, opening at number 14. With Luc Besson writing and producing the sequel to 2004's action title District 13, the sequel is set in Paris, 2013, with local thug Leito (David Belle) reunited with officer Damien (Cyril Raffaelli) to fight police corruption that threatens the area. The film opened on 415 screens taking $4.1m over the three-day weekend, at an average of $9,900 per screen.
Warner Bros' number one film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button had another solid weekend at the box office despite a 31% fall in takings, surpassing the $150m milestone internationally, and taking more than $275m worldwide. On its ninth weekend, grosses totalled more than $21.2m from 5,516 screens in 55 markets.
Second-place Bolt also crossed the $150m marker in its 13th week of international release. Bolt's total now stands at $154.9m, after adding $11.7m from 3,372 screens over the February 20-22 weekend.
Mamma Mia! The Movie looks set to pass a fresh milestone as it edges towards $450m, its current gross standing at $449.4m. Now playing solely in Japan, the musical took $1.3m from 340 screens, totalling $20.2m in that market to date.
