There was little change in the Japanese box office top ten, with only one new film, Phone Booth, breaking in. Benefiting from heavy rotation of a 'making-of' promo on the local Fox channel, the film debuted at number three, with a screen average of $29,769.

Meanwhile number one The Matrix Revolutions, now in its fourth week on release, and number two Kill Bill Vol. 1, in its fifth, are holding strong, with the former dropping 5.1% and the latter 7.2% from previous weekly box office totals.

Two top-ten films, G@me and Tears Of The Sun, even registered week-on-week gains. On December 6, however, comes the deluge, with Finding Nemo and The Last Samurai debuting - and the start of the New Year's holiday season.
