The publicity executive previously handled IFTA’s publicity mandate as a client during her time as vp of The Lippin Group.

She will report to IFTA president and CEO Jean Prewitt and IFTA evp and AFM managing director Jonathan Wolf, as does eight-year IFTA veteran Robin Burt who is promoted from director of marketing to vp of marketing and membership.

Burt will additionally manage outreach for IFTA Collections, a non-profit service that collects secondary royalty income for participants and to date has paid them more than $90m in royalties and levies.

“Jennifer and Robin have proven themselves to be strong executives with a deep understanding of the independent film and television business, as well as a wealth of creativity and contacts,” Prewitt said.

“This marks a reunion of sorts with Jennifer, who impressed us previously when we worked closely with her as a key member of our outside communications team. Robin has played an integral role in the success of the AFM throughout much of the past decade and this promotion recognizes the increasing role he has assumed in representing IFTA to the industry.”

Garnick most recently served as vp of publicity and talent relations at Buzzmedia.

Prior to joining IFTA in 2003, Burt held marketing and sales posts for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Special Olympics and the organising committee for the 1994 Soccer World Cup.
