Aldamisa International co-chairs and co-CEOs Sergei Bespalov and Marina Bespalov made the announcement on Monday (23) in the run-up to Cannes, where Hausfater will commence pre-sales on the sequels to Sin City and Machete.

Effective immediately Hausfater, the vastly experienced former senior executive at Disney, Miramax and Intermedia, will oversee day-to-day global operations. In recent markets Hausfater had operated in a consultancy role for Aldamisa International.

His purview will encompass worldwide theatrical sales, acquisitions, distribution, finance, marketing and business and legal affairs, reporting to Sergei and Marina Bespalov.

Producer and attorney Sergei Bespalov launched Aldamisa International in 2011. Along with parent company Aldamisa Entertainment it produces, acquires, finances and handles worldwide sales for a diverse slate of films.

AR Films U.S. is party to a joint venture between the Bespalovs and producer Alexander Rodnysansky. Aldamisa International handles worldwide sales on AR Films U.S.’s slate.

Aside from Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For and Machete Kills, Aldamisa International’s slate includes the untitled Renny Harlin thriller. Aldamisa is partnered on these titles with Alexander Rodnyansky’s AR Films.

Prior to joining Aldamisa, Hausfater founded and served as CEO of Essential Entertainment. Career highlights include tenure as evp of Miramax International, where he managed international distribution on the Kill Bill films, Sin City, Shall We Dance, Aviator, Scary Movie 3, Finding Neverland and Cold Mountain.

Hausfater was president of worldwide distribution at Intermedia Films’ motion picture group where he oversaw Terminator 3, The Wedding Planner, Adaptation and Resident Evil, among others.He also spent more than 12 years as evp of Buena Vista International / Buena Vista Film Sales / Buena Vista Home Entertainment, creating the first in-house sales company of any studio.
