Doug Jones has been appointed senior programmer at the IFP Los Angeles Film Festival which this year runs from June 17 to June 26. He will work year-round with the festival's programming director Rachel Rosen.

The festival, formerly the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, was taken over by IFP/Los Angeles in 2001 and expanded to include international films and special events and screenings throughout Los Angeles. Festival director is Richard Raddon, while Rosen joined in Sept 2001.

Most recently Jones served as program director for the Noise Pop Film Festival in San Francisco and as senior programmer for the 2002 and 2003 IFP Los Angeles Film Festival. His background includes curating films for the Oak Street Cinema in Minneapolis, the Mill Valley Film Festival in northern California, the San Francisco Film Society and the San Francisco International Film Festival. The submissions deadline for full-length narrative and documentary features for next year's event is March 1, 2004.
