Justine Gibbs, who worked in the entertainment industry for nearly 50 years, died at her Los Angeles home on Jun 6 following a lengthy battle against breast cancer.

Gibbs was known for her wit and generosity, traits that burned bright throughout a career that began at Rank Leisure Organisation in 1958.

She moved to Los Angeles in 1982 to join Dennis Davidson Associates and rose to the position of executive assistant to chairman Dennis Davidson. Most recently she served as executive assistant to Buena Vista International's executive vice president of worldwide publicity Teri Meyer.

Balancing the demands of the entertainment business with her passion, Gibbs was renowned for her green thumb and would often host barbecues for friends in her floral paradise.

She leaves behind her partner Diane Marquis-Sebie, step-mother Joan, step-sister Christine, and beloved chocolate Lab, William.

A memorial and reception will be held at Gibbs' residence on Saturday, Jun 16. RSVP to +1 323 785 1021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, ASPCA or World Wild Life Fund.
