Acclaimed make-up designer Paul Hyett’s directorial debut, produced by Sterling Pictures, centres on a deaf-mute brothel worker Angel (played by Rosie Day in her debut feature) who plans her escape when her closest friend is killed. The film world premiered as the opening film of this year’s FrightFest on Aug 23, and recently screened at Sitges and San Sebastian.

Caroline Stern, director of international sales & acquisitions, Kaleidoscope, commented: “We knew we had to have the film when we first saw it, and with the momentum it has since gained from FrightFest and Sitges, the AFM is the perfect place to start selling. It is a genuinely terrifying film with its basis in reality and the filmmaking had me holding my breath from the first frame.”

“I’m thrilled that Kaleidoscope will be releasing The Seasoning House worldwide. Their expertise and growing reputation in the sector is excellent and a strong, independently-minded, no-holds-barred movie such as this deserves a distributor with their outlook. Attracting such anticipation and buzz as it has, The Seasoning House promises to be an unforgettable release,” added Sterling Pictures’ Mike Riley.

The Seasoning House will receive a UK theatrical and home entertainment release, through Kaleidoscope, in 2013.
