International sales veterans Penny Karlin and Kelly Green have acquired Bjorck Film Corporation, the distribution consultancy founded by Lennart Bjorck in 1977 and renamed it Karlin-Green Media. Bjorck will remain with the company as a consultant.

Karlin, who joined Bjorck in 1996 as president, and Green, who has been with the company since 1989, will be equal partners in the new company and share co-president titles. They will continue to be based in Los Angeles.

Karlin-Green will continue to represent foreign distributors and provide a base in the US for its clients, and also intends to act as a bridge between buyers and US producers. Among its clients are Shochiku in Japan, Splendid in Germany, MediaFilm in Italy, Manga Films in Spain, Gussi in Mexico, Lider Films in Argentina, Grupo Paris Filmes in Brasil, Spentzos Film in Greece, Entertainment Consortium in Latin America, Italia Film in the Middle East and Vision Film in Poland.

Karlin and Green will be at this week's Toronto Film Festival to discuss the new services and seek out potential acquisitions.

Karlin, originally based in London, moved to Los Angeles in 1980 as vice president of international distribution at Barry & Enright Films; she became president of Hemdale Film Sales in 1982, then senior vice president, international, at Trimark, and president of Blue Ridge Entertainment before joining Bjorck.
