Kate Hudson will star opposite Dane Cook in Lionsgate's comedy Bachelor No. 2, which is set to begin filming in Boston in August.

Cook plays a man who specialises in reuniting women with their ex-boyfriends and ends up falling for his best friend's girlfriend, played by Hudson. Lionsgate has earmarked a third quarter 2008 release.

Howard Deutch is in final talks to direct from Jordan B Cahan's screenplay. Cook, who starred in Lionsgate's Employee Of The Month and the upcoming Good Luck Chuck, is producing through his Superfinger Entertainment.

The producers roster includes Management 360's Guymon Casady and Doug Johnson, Terra Firma's Adam Herz, Greg Lessans and Josh Shader, and Barry Katz and Brian Volk-Weiss of New Wave Entertainment.

Hudson will star opposite Matthew McConaughey in Warner Bros' adventure romance Fool's Gold, which is set to open in February 2008.

She is represented by Endeavor, The Firm and Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Austen, Mandelbaum and Morris.
