The Galindez Mystery, a political thriller starring Harvey Keitel and Saffron Burrows, has been bought by Mandra Film for Brazil and Madragoa Filmes for Portugal.

The film is handled by Slav International, the new sales outfit founded in January by former TF1 International executive Max Saidel.

It is an adaptation of a best-seller by M Vasquez Montalban in which an academic uncovers an old political crime, which still has present day ramifications. Directed by Spanish producer-director Gerardo Herrero, The Galindez Mystery was set up as a Spanish-UK-France co-production.

Italian rights were sold to licence trader Basic Films. UK rights are handled by co-producer Patrick Cassavetti's Greenpoint Films.

Saidel, who expects to change the company name to Vision before Cannes, is also handling Uruguay's foreign-language submission The Last Train, a comedy by Diego Arsuaga.
