Keke Palmer has joined Ice Cube as a lead in Dimension Films' Untitled Ice Cube Project based on a true story that Fred Durst will direct from a script by Doug Atchison.

Tasha Smith, Jill Marie Jones, Dash Mihok, Matt Craven, Garrett Morris and comedians Earthquake and Michael Colyar have also joined the project about a female quarterback who leads a local Illinois team to victory.

Atchison re-wrote the original screenplay by Nick Santora, who produces alongside Cube Vision's Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez. The film is shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Cube Vision has a two-year production deal at Dimension and the partners are developing Welcome Back, Kotter, based on the popular and classic television show, and Tough Love, inspired by the life of former New England Patriots player Tebucky Jone.

Dimension's 2008 slate includes Superhero! from the Scary Movie 4 film-makers, Soul Men starring Samuel L Jackson and Bernie Mac and Clive Barker Presents: Hellraiser.

Senior vice president of production Matthew Stein is overseeing the project on behalf of Dimension Films. Andrew Kramer, executive vice president of business and legal affairs, Sarah Sobel, senior vice president of business and legal affairs, and Julie Haffner, vice president of business and legal affairs, negotiated the deals on behalf of Dimension Films.
