The new Kent Film Syndicate will launch with a screening of locally shot Ruby Blue from Medb Films.

Producer Elaine Wickham and writer/director Jan Dunn shot the drama Ruby Blue, starring Josiane Balasko and Bob Hoskins, in Ramsgate and surrounding areas.

The Syndicate will host the preview screening on Friday in Ramsgate.

The Kent Film Syndicate has been set up by Producer, Elaine Wickham and Writer/Director Jan Dunn from Medb (pronounced 'Maeve') films, based in Ramsgate.

Jo Nolan, CEO Screen South, said: 'Screen South is delighted to working with Kent County Council to explore sustainable ways of supporting the creative industries in Kent. The Kent Film Syndicate offers a unique opportunity to pilot a case study with a real focus on Kent based production activity and production spend which will allow us to measure the economic, cultural and social impact. This kind of support from Kent County Council will pay dividends for the future of the county as a productive creative hub at the gateway to Europe.'
