Actor Ben Kingsley is expected to join Nastassja Kinski and others at this year's Karlovy Vary International film festival in July, festival organisers have announced.

A newly unveiled list of guests at the Czech festival also includes director Bille August, who will present his competition film Song For Martin (En Sang For Martin); director, screenwriter and producer Bruce Beresford, who presents a special screening of his Bride Of The Wind; actress Thora Birch, whose Ghost World is also in competition; actress Marcia Gay Harden, presenting Gaudi Afternoon; and director, screenwriter and producer John Herzfeld, presenting 15 Minutes.

Kingsley will accompany the film Sexy Beast, which screens in the festival's Horizons section. Kinski, meanwhile, will present Eva Gardos' mother-daughter drama An American Rhapsody, the festival opener in which Kinski stars.

The festival has also announced a full list of films in the main competition, which will include Vladimir Michalek's Czech film Angel Exit, Violet Perfume (Perfume De Violetas) from Mexico's Maryse Sistach, and Amelie From Montmartre (Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amelie Poulain) from France's Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

The Forum of Independents sidebar, highlighting independent films from around the globe, will feature a special focus on digital filmmaking by independent directors, with a special screening of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Allan Cumming's low-budget flick The Anniversary Party. The Forum of Independents will also include a tribute to Allison Anders (Gas Food Lodging), a focus on new films from Argentina, and the return to Karlovy Vary of indie writer-director Tom DiCillo.

Other events of this Bohemian spa town festival, known for its focus on films from the East, include a retrospective of Korean films and a Jean-Luc Godard tribute. The festival runs July 5-14.
