Kinowelt's world sales arm Filmverlag der Autoren has picked up international distribution rights for film school graduate Till Endemann's debut feature Mondlandung, which received its world premiere at the International Hof Film Days at the end of October.

Produced by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Film Academy with V-Max Media, Mondlandung (Moon Landing) follows the attempts by two brothers (played by Andrej Dronov and Anton Levit) to find their bearings in Germany after arriving with their ethnic German emigrant family from Kazakhstan. Confronted by the new situation, a new language and unfamiliar surroundings, they begin to drift apart...

In addition, head of world sales Stelios Ziannis told ScreenDaily.com that Filmverlag has found takers for its nine-title Fassbinder library which includes such classics as Veronika Voss and The Marriage Of Maria Braun. In France, Carlotta has acquired both the theatrical and DVD rights to Filmverlag's line-up, while the Mikado subsidiary eMIK has acquired the DVD rights for Italy.

A US deal has also been sealed for the library with DVD specialist Criterion, and negotiations are "underway" for a sale to a Spanish DVD distributor. Kinowelt Home Entertainment will release the films on DVD in Germany.
