Stephen Chow's Kung-fuHustle heads the pack in the nominations for this year's Hong Kong FilmAwards, bagging 16 nods including best film, best director and best actor forChow.

The box office smash wasnominated in every category apart from best supporting actress and best song.It picked up two best supporting actor nods for Chan Kwok Kwan and martial artslegend Yuen Wah. Yuen Qiu, also a kung-fu veteran, picked up a best actress nodfor her role as a chain-smoking landlady with a deadly secret skill.

Wong Kar Wai's 2046came close behind with 12 nominations including best film, best director, bestactor for Tony Leung Chiu-wai and best actress for Zhang Ziyi. Derek Yee's OneNite In Mongkok, about a mainland immigrant adrift in Hong Kong, picked up11 nominations including best film, best director, best actress for CeciliaCheung and two best actor nods for Alex Fong and Daniel Wu.

Benny Chan's New PoliceStory scored eight nods including best film, best director and best actorfor Jackie Chan. Johnnie To's Breaking News rounds out both the bestfilm and best director categories and picked up four nods in all.

Hong Kong-basedcinematographer Chris Doyle was nominated twice for 2046 and FruitChan's Dumplings. Chan's film picked up five nominations in allincluding best screenplay (Lilian Lee), best supporting actor (Tony LeungKa-fai) and best supporting actress (Bai Ling).

This year the Hong Kong FilmAwards (March 27) will be held as part of the first ever Entertainment ExpoHong Kong which combines all the territory's major film and music events.

The awards ceremony is alsobeing expanded - it will be held in a much larger venue, the Hong Kong Coliseum- and will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chinese cinema. Majorstars and directors from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, including Zhang Yimou,Hou Hsiao-Hsien and nominated actress Zhang Ziyi, have been invited to attend.
