Olivier Dahan's Edith Piaf biopic La Vie En Rose will launch the 12th Rendez-Vous With French Cinema, the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Unifrance's annual showcase of French cinema.

La Vie En Rose, which will open Berlin on Feb 8, stars Marian Cotillard and Gerard Depardieu and chronicles the singer's meteoric rise from Paris street performer to a world renowned diva who became addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Each of the 16 films in the programme will get its US premiere during the event, which runs at the Walter Reade Theatre and the IFC Center from Feb 28-Mar 11.

Francis Verber's comedy The Valet starring Daniel Auteuil, Kristin Scott Thomas, model Alice Taglioni, and comedian Gad Elmaleh will close the event.

The roster includes work from Guillame Canet and Catherine Corsini, among others, and features performances from such actors as Francois Cluzet, Jean Rochefort, Karin Viard, and newcomer Melanie Laurent.
