Ideal World's critically acclaimed Late Night Shopping was named best feature Film at the 2002 BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards held in Glasgow on Sunday night.

The quirky tale of fraught friendships starring Luke de Woolfson, James Lance and Heike Makatsch also won best director for Saul Metzstein and the craft award for production designer Mike Gunn.

Ken Loach's Sweet Sixteen continued its winning streak with its young star Martin Compston named best actor whilst Kathleen McDermott won best actress for Morvern Callar. The Practicality Of Magnola won Best Television Drama, Wish won Best Short Fillm with Richard Smith taking Best Television Screenplay for Leonard, the short that New York-based Kinetic Arts is currently developing as a feature. The Scottish Screen Award For Outstanding Achievement went to producer Gillian Berrie of Sigma Films whose recent credits include The Last Great Wilderness and Wilbur Wants To Kill Himself.
