Turkish competition film Distant (Uzak) secured itself a US release with a sale to New Yorker, the specialist releasing operation that is now under new management.

Korean sales house Mirovision secured a big deal on its hugely ambitious animated film Wonderful Days, selling the $13m-budget picture to Pathe for France and Benelux.

Giants Entertainment picked up world sales rights to Sitting Ducks, a Notting Hill-set comedy about asylum seekers. The film was produced by Synergy Films of South Africa and directed by Gerald Fox. It stars Mariella Frostrup, Serge Soric and Gina Bellman.

Trust Film Sales sold Lars von Trier's Dogville to Icon for the UK, in what was one of the last major territories to close. The firm also sold Inheritance to Poland (Gutek) and Hungary (Budapest Film).
