Iconic UK director Mike Leigh started shooting his latest feature today (Sept 30) at locations around London.

The film, set to shoot for ten weeks, stars Imelda Staunton, Phil Davis, Daniel Mays, Alex Kelly, Adrian Scarborough and Heather Craney.

Typically for a Mike Leigh project, details at the production stage are sketchy. The film is currently known only as Untitled 03, and no synopsis has yet been announced.

The film is financed by Studio Canal, which handles international sales, and the UK Film Council's Premiere Fund, which has invested £1.3m in the project. Producer is Thin Man Films' Simon Channing-Williams.

Executive producers are Alain Sarde, Robert Jones, Gail Egan and Duncan Reid.

The new film reunites Leigh with several crew members from his previous films including cinematographer Dick Pope, production designer Eve Stewart, costume designer Jacqueline Durran and hair and make-up designer Christine Blundell, as well as editor Jim Clark.
