Kindred Media Group haspicked up worldwide distribution rights to Brett C. Leonard's directorial debutJailbait, starring Michael Pitt.

The New York andPennsylvania-based boutique distributor plans a North American release in April2006, with home video set to follow shortly afterwards.

Pitt plays a young mansentenced to a California maximum-security prison under the three-strikeslaw, who becomes cellmates with a man convicted of murdering his wife.

Stephen Adly Guirgis, whomade his feature acting debut in Todd Solondz's Palindromes, also stars.Leonard also wrote the screenplay. Dan O'Meara, Leonard, Corbin Day andBelladonna's Linda Moran and Rene Bastian produced.

"[Jailbait] exploresinner demons and male sexuality in the small confines of a prison cell,"Kindred president Jeffrey D Erb said. "We look forward to exposing this film toa wide audience."

Erb negotiated the deal withJosh Braun of Sumbarine and Jonathan Gray of Spinak & Gray representing theproducers.
