Tilva Rosh, the feature debut of Serbian director Nikola Lezaic won the Heart of Sarajevo for the best film at the 16th Sarajevo Film Festival.

Marko Todorovic, the lead actor of the coming-of-age transition drama set in a Serbian mining town of Bor, won the Heart of Sarajevo for best actor from the jury presided by Cristi Puiu.

Kornel Mundruczo’s Cannes competition entry Tender Son - The Frankenstein Project received the Special Jury Award, and Mirela Opresor picked up the best actress award for her role in Radu Muntean’s Un Certain Regard title Tuesday, After Christmas.

In the short film competition, Zvonimir Juric’s Yellow Moon won best film. Juric’s low-key drama was a part of Croatian omnibus film Zagreb Stories. Marko Mestrovic’s No Sleep Won’t Kill You from Croatia and Maya Vitkova’s Stanka Goes Home from Bulgaria received special jury mentions.

Best documentary went to Biljana Garvanieva’s Macedonia-Germany co-production The Seamstresses and Mila Seeking Senida by Croatia’s Robert Tomic Zuber picked up the Human Rights Award.

In Sarajevo’s co-production market CineLink competition for best new projects, Circles by Serbia’s Srdan Golubovic won the Excellence Award, after winning at this year’s Cannes Atelier. Living Pictures Service Award went to Hungary’s Arpad Bogdan for The Necromancer and International Relations Arte Prize was given to Bosnia’s Ines Tanovic for Our Everyday Life. Hungary’s Balint Kenyeres received the CNC Award for Hier and Romania’s Bogdan Mustata picked up the Eurimages Award for Wolf.

Among CineLink’s Work in Progress projects, Israel’s Hagar Ben Sher won the Restart Award for The Slut and the Post Republic Award went to Turkey’s Seyfetin Tokmak for Broken Mussels.

Sarajevo’s partner awards featured Shalimar Preuss’ Rendezvous In Stella - Plage as the Sarajevo candidate for the European Film Academy Award, Croatia’s Goran Devic received the European Documentary Network grant for The Flood, and Szabolcs Hajdu’s Berlin entry Bibliotheque Pascal won both the CICAE and Cineuropa awards.
