Buena Vista International(BVI)'s animated romp Lilo & Stitch grossed $2.3m in Japan over the weekend, dropping17% but raising its cumulative score in the market to $7.1m. Its internationalrunning total now stands at $107.3m.

Spy thriller The Recruit grossed $1.3m over the weekend to raise itinternational running total to $2.9m. The highlight was a number one nationwideopening in Korea on $625,000 on 73 screens.

Opening number two in Taiwanthe picture grossed $230,000 on 15 screens. It also opened in second place inNew Zealand, taking $150,000 on 30 screens.

BVI opened Spike Lee'sdrama The 25th Hour in France,grossing $790,000 on 155 screens. The picture's international cumulativescore is $800,000.

Chicago added another $2.3m over the weekend for a total inBVI territories of $44.3m, while fellow Oscar contender The Hours added $1.7m for an $11.9m running total.

The Jungle Book 2 took $1.5m over the weekend for a $31m internationalrunning total. Treasure Planetadded $500,000 for a $63.3m cumulative score with Japan still to open.
