Lions Gate FilmsInternational has acquired international rights to Spanish romantic comedymusical The Other Side Of The Bed(El Otro Lado Del La Cama)directed by Emilio Martinez Lazaro. The film, which screened at the TorontoInternational Film Festival as a gala premiere, marks the second collaborationbetween Lions Gate Films International and production outfit EstudiosPicasso/Telecinco after Intactowhich Lions Gate picked up for worldwide distribution at Sundance this year.Estudios Picasso is the production, acquisitions and distribution arm ofSpanish free-TV giant Telecinco.

Lions Gate FilmsInternational's co-presidents Nick Meyer and Sergei Yershov will also actas sales agents for the North American sale.

The film, whichhas grossed over $5m since its July release in Spain through Buena VistaInternational, stars Paz Vega, who can also be seen in Almodovar's HableCon Ella and NataliaVerbeke (Son Of The Bride). Verbeke plays a woman who leaves her long-time boyfriend,announcing that she is in love with his best friend.

Lazaro'sprevious credits include Amo Tu Cama Rica starring Javier Bardem, La Voz De Su Amo starring Silvia Abascal and CarreterasSecundarias starringAntonio Resines. His movie Las Palabras De Max won the Golden Bear at the 1978 BerlinFilm Festival.

Last week, LionsGate announced that it had picked up remaining international rights to StevenShainberg's Sundance hit Secretary from Alibi Films in the UK. Lions Gate Films Releasing hadalready taken North American rights after the film premiered at Sundance thisyear. As well as continuing international sales on the remaining availableterritories Lions Gate Films International will handle all servicing anddelivery requirements for the film on behalf of the international distributorscurrently in place including Eagle Pictures in Italy, Gaga Communications inJapan, Non Stop Entertainment in Scandinavia and Paradiso in Benelux.
