Lionsgate has acquired worldwide rights excluding Mexico from LA-based HighRoad Entertainment to William Dear's The Perfect Game.

The true story centres on a lowly Mexican Little League team that became the first non-American team to win the league's World Series. Clifton Collins, Cheech Marin and Louis Gossett Jr star.

W William Winokur wrote the screenplay and produced with David Salzberg, Christian Tureaud, Mark Koch, Daniel de Liege and Michael Gallant.

Lionsgate's president of theatrical films Tom Ortenberg, executive vice president legal and business affairs, acquisitions and co-productions Wendy Jaffe, executive vice president of acquisitions and co-productions Jason Constantine and vice president of acquisitions Eda Kowan brokered the deal with HighRoad's David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud along with Bill Grantham of Greenberg Traurig.
