First Look Studios haspicked up North American rights to Rowan Woods' Australian drama Little Fish from Myriad Pictures and plans a release in thefirst quarter of the year.

The acclaimed film starringCate Blanchett, Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving won four Australian Film Institute(AFI) Awards late last year. It charts the escapades of a drug addict trying togo straight who is lured into one last criminal venture by her brother.

Porchlight Films' VincentSheehan and Liz Watts produced with Richard Keddie, and Barrie M Osborne,Robert Mullis, Myriad chief Kirk D'Amico and Marion Pilowsky served asexecutive producers.

Little Fish is a FilmFinance Corporation Australia presentation of a Porchlight Films production inassociation with Mullis Capital Independent, the NSW Film and TelevisionOffice, Myriad Pictures and Dirty Films.

The film joins a growingrelease slate by the newly revitalized First Look, with CEO Henry Wintersternat the helm, including Nick Mastandrea's The Breed, John Hillcoat's The Proposition and Larry Clark's Wassup Rockers.
