New UK home entertainment distributor inD has struckexclusive output deals with Hungarofilms and Hollywood Classics.

Titles covered by the deal include Istvan Szabo's Oscarwinner Mephisto, Cannes Jury prize-winner Colonel Redl, and Hanussen,the third element in the trilogy.

From Hollywood Classics, inD acquired Federico Fellini's Casanova,a pair of Elia Kazan titles A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, and Panic InThe Streets and Jack Cardiff's DH Lawrence-adaptation Sons And Lovers.

InD was formed last year by US video veteran Richard Lorberand 3DD Entertainment's Dominic Savage. Lorber said: "these deals on suchhighly-acclaimed films fulfil part of our mandate to concentrate on timelessclassic product."

Lorber, who also heads US home entertainment outfit KochKlorber Films, has recently snapped up two library titles by Denys Arcand,director of this year's foreign language Oscar winner The BarbarianInvasions. Koch Lorber acquired Invasions-precursor The DeclineOf The American Empire and Jesus Of Montreal.

Other recent acquisitions include video rights to FatihAkin's In July - which premiered in Berlin last year and is currently onUS theatrical release - The Girl From Paris (Une Hirondelle A Fait LePrintemps) Jacques Demy classic The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg and Fellini's La DolceVita.
