Comment on: Short Cuts
In response to Chris's cri de coeur, he may like to know that Watershed/Encounters with the grateful help of Arts Alliance digitise the winners of the 90second depict! competition and get them out to cinema servers across the UK to play with features. This has happened over the past four years so makes up an interesting diverse bunch of short film animation and live action content for cinemas to screen. We also work with distributors to identify feature titles that they will play with. At Watershed we indeed screen them in front of features. It's not the whole answer I'm sure but should be noted.
