Mike Macclesfield is retiring as vice president of international sales and development at United International Pictures (UIP), the joint distribution partnership of Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Macclesfield, who has served more than 26 years at UIP, will step down at the end of this year. Julian Stanford, senior vice president sales Europe, will assume responsibility for Macclesfield's territories and for developing markets. He will also take over responsibility for David Bristow and Yit-Ching Lee, director and manager respectively within the international sales and development department.

Macclesfield is credited with the first Hindi-dubbed US release in India with Jurassic Park and the 1989 release in Russia of Gone With The Wind, the first that allowed an overseas distributor to earn a share of box office receipts in hard currency.
