DreamWorks Animation's Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa on $78.3m opens in 13 territories through PPI this weekend and will pose the mightiest challenge to Sony Pictures Releasing International's Quantum Of Solace.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa arrives in France, French-speaking Switzerland, Switzerland and Belgium on December 4, followed by Germany, German-speaking Switzerland and Argentina on December 4 and the UK, Mexico and Austria on December 5.

Quantum Of Solace has reached $346.3m and opens in Venezuela this weekend. The James Bond saga arrives in Japan in late January. Meanwhile Sony's thriller Lakeview Terrace starring Samuel Jackson opens in the UK on December 5.

Disney chiefs expect big things from Wall-E this weekend when Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International launches the animated feature in Japan on December 6.

Japan is traditionally the biggest international market for Pixar releases and a big debut should push the $265.2m running total towards the $275m mark.

Walt Disney Animation Studio's Bolt has amassed $10m so far and opens in four territories including Singapore on December 4 and Spain a day later. High School Musical 3; Senior Year opens in Australia and New Zealand on December 4 and has grossed more than $134m.

Summit International's vampire romance Twilight has grossed more than $21.2m and opens in four this weekend including Spain on December 5. Happy-Go-Lucky opens in Italy on the same day.

New Line International's comedy Four Christmases stands at $4.8m and should get a timely push when it lands in Germany, German-speaking Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand on December 4, followed by Austria on December 5.

According to latest information, the Western Appaloosa stands at $5.5m and opens in Brazil on December 5, while the police drama Pride & Glory on $6.1m opens in France on December 3.

Fox International releases The Secret Life Of Bees in Singapore on December 4 followed by the UK on December 5. The female-driven drama is in the early stages of release. The videogame adaptation Max Payne and the adventure epic Australia stand at $41.3m and $6.8m, respectively.

Universal UPI's Changeling on $15.6m opens in four including the Netherlands on December 4. The American football yarn The Express launches in the UK on December 5. Burn After Reading's worldwide gross now stands at $133m.

Warner Bros Pictures International's spy thriller Body Of Lies stands at $47.1m while the romance Nights In Rodanthe has grossed $32m.
