Magnolia Pictures' genre arm Magnet Releasing announced the Six Shooter Film Series today [13] that will kick off on October 24 with Tomas Alfredson's Swedish horror and Tribeca Film Festival best narrative feature winner Let The Right One In.

The series will continue on November 21 with Hal Halberman and Jeremy Passmore's US action comedy Special starring Michael Rapaport as a parking warden who believes he has special powers. The film will get launch on HDNet's ULTRA VOD platform on November 7.

Beyond that, Magnet will release Nacho Vigalondo's Spanish sci-fi tale Timecrimes in mid-December while the 2009 slate comprises Franck Vestiel's French sci-fi thriller Eden Log in January, Ollie Blackburn's UK thriller Donkey Punch in February and Hitoshi Matsumoto's superhero mockumentary Big Man Japan in March.

'Some of the most exciting, forward-thinking cinema today falls under the genre label and deserves a showcase,' Magnolia Pictures president Eamonn Bowles said. 'In the tradition of The Shooting Gallery Film Series, we're putting together a group of films whose quality far outweighs most of what's on offer from Hollywood.'
