The Spanish Film Festival of Malaga (April 22-30) will hostfour industry-oriented markets this year, adding two new three-day events toits calendar of activities.

On top of the now established feature film Market Screeningsfor international buyers (April 24-26) and documentary market Mercadoc (April24-26), the festival has unveiled a new TV Market (April 28-30) andmultimedia/new technologies ART-TV (April 27-29).

The markets should help consolidate the festival, now in itseighth edition, as the key international platform for Spanish product in allformats. A short film market will be inaugurated next year.

Meanwhile, fresh from his lifetime achievement tribute atthe European Film Awards, veteran director Carlos Saura will be the subject ofa retrospective at the festival. Director Gerardo Vera (Second Skin)will receive the Ricardo Franco Award while actress Veronica Forque (Kika)will take home the festival's Malaga Prize.
