The International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg is being brought forward from November to new dates in October - 9th to 21st - for the 2007 edition, which will bring it up against other international festivals with industry components.

The Pusan International Film Festival with the Pusan Promotion Plan co-production gathering runs from October 4-12, while the Rome Festival's Business Street has now been scheduled for October 18-21 (the actual festival runs October 18-27).

Apart from the new dates, Mannheim-Heidelberg will also be two days longer, beginning on a Tuesday instead of Thursday as in previous years. Other changes will see the festival moving to new locations on the banks of the Rhine and Neckar rivers in Mannheim and Heidelberg and having four 1,000-seater theatre tents to screen its programme of young independent cinema.

According to press and PR officer Marija Capek, the Mannheim Meetings co-production market will be held from Monday 15 to Friday 19 October.
