The acquisition was part of Marcus Evans and Ken Mcreddie Associates’ plan to create its own production unit, following their merger in 2008.

The Marcus Evans Group has bought independent production company, World Productions, the company behind UK TV dramas This Life and United, formerly headed by Tony Garnett and John Heyman.

In 2008, Marcus Evans acquired artist agency Ken Mcreddie Associates. Since the purchase Marcus Evans Entertainment and Ken Mcreddie Associates have been working towards creating its own production unit.

World’s Simon Heath becomes creative director, MEE’s Jake Lushington becomes head of drama and Roderick Seligman will continue as managing director, with Roger Charteris as CEO.
