Entertainment One Films US announced on Friday [12] the appointment of Ryan Markowitz to the newly position of vp of theatrical sales and distribution.

Based in the company’s Manhattan office, Markowitz is responsible for all aspects of film distribution at the unit, which aims to release 12-15 films a year.

Among these are Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf’s, Brian de Palma’s Passion, Sundance horror We Are What We Are and Cuban Fury, starring Nick Frost, Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd and Ian McShane.

Markowitz first worked with the company in a consultancy role in early 2012 and managed releases for eOne’s US slate including A Late Quartet and Cosmopolis prior to assuming a full-time position.

Before eOne he served 14 years in film distribution including stints at New Line, Picturehouse, Apparition, FilmDistrict and IDP.
