Philippe Martinez returns to AFM with production and sales start-up
Cinepro Pictures and is introducing buyers to the $20m supernatural
thriller Tribes Of October.

Martinez will direct and co-produce with screenwriters Nick Valelonga
and Paul Sloane. The story is styled as a police thriller with a
devilish twist and filming is set to begin in May in the US state of
Georgia.

Cinepro head of sales Ben Rizzo will also be talking to buyers about
the $7m comedy Ex-Wife For Sale, which Martinez will also direct and
centres on group of men who try to find husbands for their former
wives to avoid alimony payments. Cinepro has set a tentative start
date of February.

The roster includes the previously announced $7m Val Kilmer thriller
The Steam Experiment directed by Martinez, which is in post-production
and centres on six people trapped in a Turkish bathhouse. Armand
Assante and Eric Roberts also star and Genius Products holds North
American rights.

The company, which has offices in Florida and Georgia and is backed by
private equity investors, aims to make two films a year. Karinne Behr
is consulting on sales during AFM through her company Finance In
Motion.
