William Morris Endeavor (WME) Global brought the film to Ealing Studios to finance, produce and sell internationally. WME Global is handling North American rights. Cynthia Mort will write and direct.
Singer and activist Nina Simone is best remembered for international hits such as “My Baby Just Cares for Me”, “I Put A Spell on You” “Mississippi Goddamn” and “Young, Gifted and Black”.
The film will focus on Simone’s relationship with her assistant Clifton Henderson, who will be played by David Oyelowo.
