Matt Brown has been promoted to executive vice president - international at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE).

Former Coca-Cola Company senior manager Simon McDowell has joined as senior vice president and general manager, Europe, and will report to Brown.

Brown will be based in Los Angeles and manage SPHE's international business including strategic planning and divisional growth.

He most recently served as the company's executive vice president - Europe, and prior to that served as head of international home video at DreamWorks.

McDowell will be based in London overseeing the management of SPHE's European territories and will be responsible for creating and executing business plans for the region.

McDowell served 11 years at The Coca-Cola Company in senior management and global marketing roles.

'The home entertainment market is truly a global business with the international sector becoming as critical as our domestic area,' SPHE president David Bishop, to whom Brown will report, said.

'Matt's extensive experience in the international home entertainment arena, and outstanding strategic skills, make him the ideal choice to help SPHE navigate the challenges of this new business environment.'
