Maximum International has picked up international rights on Isabella Rossellini's short film series Green Porno. Commissioned by The Sundance Channel, the eight mobile-oriented short films feature the actress re-enacting the mating ritual of various insects and other creatures.

The first three pieces -- Firefly, Dragon Fly, Spider -- will premiere at Sundance while a selection from the next five -- Bee, Praying Mantis, Worm, Snail and Fly -- will premiere at the Berlinale. The Sundance Channel plans to make the films available online and for download in the spring. They will be used as interstitial programming on the channel.

The first three films were directed by Rossellini. The five succeeding films are directed by Rossellini and Jody Shapiro, producer of Guy Maddin's homage to Rossellini's father, My Dad Is 100 Years Old, written by and starring Rossellini. Green Porno is produced by Rossellini, Shapiro and Rick Gilbert in association with Sundance Channel.
