The Mayhem Project, the independent production and financecompany launched in June 2005 by executive Anthony Mosawi, has signed its firsttwo screenwriter deals.

Todd Farmer will write the screenplay to the feature version of the survivalhorror video game franchise Clock Tower, while Ronnie Christensen will the supernatural story Sanctuary.

Both projects will be budgeted in the $10m-$15m range and were negotiated byMosawi and The Mayhem Project's president of production Brad Luff. Productionis scheduled to begin in 2006.

Clock Tower isbased on VG Clock Tower 3, the third installment of the Capcom videogame franchisedirected by cult Japanese director Kinji Fukasaku.

Farmer's credits include The Messenger for Mandate Films, directed by the Pang Brothers, aswell as Jason X forNew Line. He is also writing John Carpenter's videogame, Psychopath.

Sanctuary
is basedon an original idea Christensen brought to Mosawi and Luff. Christensen'sprevious credits include Passengers for Mandate and Smoke for Gold Circle.

'Being a boutique production and development company, we can cut through alot of the standard red tape permitting us to move quickly on acquiringprojects followed by a timely move into development and production, a qualitywhich seems to have drawn a lot of attention from talent so far," Mosawi said.

He continued: "We are also in discussions on several other projects, and are ontarget to meet our goal of financing and producing two to three filmsannually."

Jennifer Rogers and Paul Doble recently joined as production executives. Rogersarrives from New Line Cinema, and previously worked for Michael Bay's horrorbanner Platinum Dunes, while Doble previously served as director of developmentfor Mutual Film Company during production of the Tomb Raider movie franchise.
