Berlin-based film and TV seller MDC International made a quick start to its Mifed campaign selling Slovenian picture Spare Parts, directed by Damjan Kozole, to Cinemart for the Czech Republic, Future Film for Scandinavia, Lumiere for Belgium and Neue Visionen for Germany.

MDC sold Polish TV rights on Latvian director Vasis Basla's Christmas Huddle to Puls TV. And Some Secrets, directed by Alice Nellis of the Czech Republic, were sold to Dream Entertainment for Israel.

MDC is also handling music film Schulze Gets The Blues, which was a sleeper hit at the Venice festival earlier this year. In a deal just prior to the market US rights were licensed to Paramount Classics (see Screendaily.com). Company chief Wigbert Moschall and sales head Barbora (ed sic) Ondrejcakova expect to use Mifed to close a number of pending deals in East Europe and Asia.
