Artscope, a label of Paris-based Memento Films International, has picked the Georgian Berlinale Forum title In Bloom by Nana Ekvtimshvili and Simon Gross.

Nana Ekvtimshvili and Simon Gross’ In Bloom is a German-French-Georgian co-production between Gross’ Indiz Film, Guillaume de Seille’s Arizona Productions, and Ekvtimshvili’s Polare Film centres on the coming of age of two 14-year-old girls living in Tbilisi during the spring and summer of 1992.

In Bloom is the first Georgian film to screen in the Forum since Lana Ghogoberidze’s Waltz On The Pechora 20 years ago and follows swiftly on the heels of Ekvtimshvili’s short Waiting For Mum which won the Mediterranean Cinema Award for Best Short Film at last month’s Trieste Film Festival.
