Debra Messing has joined producer Freddy Rodriguez, John Leguizamo, Alfred Molina, Jay Hernandez, Mercedes Ruehl and Luis Guzman in the cast of Overture Film's family drama Humboldt Park.

Production is set to begin in Chicago on Feb 13 on the State Street Pictures and 2DS Productions project. The story revolves around three siblings who undergo an emotional reunion when they return home for the holidays. Melonie Diaz and Vanessa Ferlito also star.

Alfredo De Villa is directing from a script by Rick Najera, Ted Perkins and Alison Swan. Messing, who will play Leguizamo's wife, is represented by management company 3 Arts and The Gersh Agency.

Overture paid more than $3m at last month's Sundance Film Festival for US rights to Mark Pellington's drama Henry Poole Is Here starring Luke Wilson and recently released its first feature Mad Money, with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes.
