Michael Brown has left his position as the MD of entertainment marketing firm Beatwax after 12 years.

He now plans to “launch a big thinking, integrated agency from the ground up.”

Brown said: “This will be a new agency model and in its early days will take the form of an alliance under one brand name as yet to be announced.

“The agency will deliver a full wrap around service, to be bolted on in stages, to include not only my own background in events, experiential, guerrilla activity, PR and publicity, but also creative services in digital and analogue, production, media partnerships, brand promotions, social media and out of home.

“I am going to move from being in entertainment marketing to being in entertaining marketing - to create compelling content and stories for dissemination across all marketing platforms.”

At Beatwax, he worked with clients including 20th Century Fox, Disney and Warner Bros on global launches for films such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Simpsons Movie and Up.

Brown added: “It’s ambitious given the economic outlook, but the central tenet I have always enshrined into my working practices, which also became the Beatwax modus operandi, is the belief that the seemingly impossible can be overcome.

“I would not have been able to fly a hot air balloon through Tower Bridge without that mentality. I am taking that mentality forward to overcome the challenges ahead.”
