eOne Entertainment International has taken on international sales rights to Toronto special presentation Rio SexComedy.

Sales head Charlotte Mickie is introducing the France-Brazil co-production to buyers here. Jonathan Nossiter directed the story about the misadventures of a group of expatriates in Rio. Charlotte Rampling, Bill Pullman and Irene Jacob star.

A press and industry screening takes place tomorrow [14] ahead of Thursday’s world premiere. Mickie is representing international rights excluding Canada, France and Brazil. Cinetic represents the US.

“I adore Jonathan’s work,” Mickie said. “His voice is unique, an extraordinary blend of the highly playful and dead serious; a mixture that in my opinion is the definition of art.”

Mikie has also closed sales on Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies, which is close to a US deal. New deals have concluded with Filmcoopi in Switzerland, ECS Film Distribution in the Middle East and Shani in Israel.

Rights to Monte Hellman’s Road To Nowhere have gone to Clap Filmes in Portugal while Cairo Time sold to Catchplay in Taiwan.
