Mila Kunis has joined Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman on Alcon Entertainment and Silver Pictures’ $85m action thriller The Book Of Eli.

Albert and Allen Hughes, whose last feature From Hell was released in 2001, will commence principal photography in New Mexico in February and Warner Bros has earmarked the North American release for January 15, 2010.

Washington will play a lone warrior in a post-apocalyptic America who holds the secret to society’s salvation. Kunis will portray play a woman who is initially deployed to betray the hero and ultimately joins him in his quest.

Summit International has virtually completed pre-sales and signed deals at AFM with Entertainment for the UK, Kadokawa for Japan, Tobis for Germany, Metropolitan for France and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group for Australia, Latin America, New Zealand Spain, Scandinavia and much of Asia and Eastern Europe, among others.

Alcon’s Kosove and Johnson will produce along with Joel Silver and Washington.
