Jonny Lee Miller has signed to star in Dimension Films' Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000, joining Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Esposito and singer Vitamin C in the latest re-telling of the Bram Stoker classic.

Miller, who previously starred in Miramax Films' Mansfield Park and Trainspotting, plays Simon Shephard, a London antiques dealer who joins forces with his mentor Abraham Van Helsing (Plummer) to travel to New Orleans to save Van Helsing's estranged daughter from Dracula.

Dracula 2000 - Dimension's tent-pole film for the Christmas season - is due to start shooting in the summer, opening wide on December 22.

Patrick Lussier, editor of Wes Craven's Scream trilogy, will direct from a script by Joel Soisson.

Soisson is also producing together with WK Border through their Neo Art and Logic Productions, along with Wes Craven and Marianne Maddalena of Craven/Maddalena Films.

Esposito is to play an expert thief who fall under the spell of Dracula, while Vitamin C has been cast as Lucy, a woman Dracula seduces to get to her roommate - Van Helsing's daughter Mary.
