First it was magazine publishing, now Miramax Films has extended its tentacles onto The Great White Way. The New York-based Disney-offshoot has signed a deal to co-finance the Broadway run of the hit London stage revival of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing.

The London cast which is currently in the middle of a three month run at the Albery Theatre in London (after a summer at the Donmar Warehouse) will move to Broadway for a limited 20-week engagement opening on April 17 at the Barrymore Theatre. It is headed by Stephen Dillane and Jennifer Ehle.

Director of the revival is David Leveaux, who directed Electra with Zoe Wanamaker and Anna Christie starring Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson.

Stoppard, of course, won a screenwriting Oscar for penning Miramax's 1998 box office smash Shakespeare In Love.

The Broadway run is produced by Anita Waxman of Alexis Productions, Elizabeth Williams of Four Corners Productions and Ron Kastner.
